Opportunity:Students and young adults lose their keys while out partying and can't get back into their dorm/apartment/house late at night. They put their keys in their pocket or purse and at some point in the night do to moving through crowds and dancing their keys fall out of their pocket or purse.
Solution: My solution is to create a fashionable anklet, bracelet, and clip that the customer can place a key or fob on and then wear. This way the key or fob can be securely attached to the customer and they do not have to worry about losing it. There will be different designs and styles for males and females. The bracelet and ankle will mainly be designed for females to wear but will be provided in colors that males would be willing to wear. The clips will also be provided in both male and female colors but they will mostly be marketed towards males to put on their belt loops or attach to their shoe. I feel that having the key or fob attached to the customer instead of in a pocket or purse there will be a lower chance of losing it.
Hi Catherine, I think this is a really good idea and I would actually be interested in buying a product like this! I've lost my keys too many times to count after a night at midtown, but having a cute bracelet that matches my outfit would be the perfect solution. I remember freshman year I used to tie my dorm key on a hair tie which would work most of the time until I would forget it was on there and offer it to someone else to use.

ReplyDeleteI like your idea and as someone who has lost their key in the middle of the night I would probably invest in something like this. However, I think it might be difficult to create accessories that hold different types of keys. For example, I have lived in places that use both a physical key and a fob. Others use a key card. Others use a strangely shaped fob. It will be interesting to hear how you deal with this variety. You might be able to use this challenge to make your product even more unique and stylish.
